Birds in Yard

We've certainly been getting a lot of birds in the yard - our yard list now stands at 24 species of birds and 10 species of mammals and reptiles. The ones pictures here (from the top) are kookarurra, magpie and king parrot. One bird we've seen only rarely (and which I don't have a photo of yet) is the pretty little spotted pardalote (below) which has a sweet little song.

Wow, that is wonderful! So great to see the brilliant red of the king parrots.

Nice. The main slightly-less-common birds that we get at our place are Yellowhammers. We're hoping that eventually the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary will be so full to overflowing that even at the other end of the suburb we'll be getting Stitch birds! (We might need to dig in for the long haul on that one...)
