Possibly Nancy & Tim's New Home!

This house may just be "the" house for us - very competitively priced, less than one year old construction, on 2.1 acres. (The owners are moving to be nearer grandchildren.) NOTE: the house is light gray but looks pink like this at sunset. Posted by Picasa

The house is at the end of a cul-de-sac in Mount Crosby, 35 minutes west of Brisbane. It has town water but we would also add a water tank with rainwater collected from the roof so as to have more freedom to water the garden and have fresh water for the alpacas. Posted by Picasa

New gourmet kitchen - love the gas range! There is a door to the garage on the right. The house has 4 large bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms. Posted by Picasa

Living room/ kitchen area. The wooden floors are lovely. The bedrooms and a huge rec room have deep pile beige wool carpets. Posted by Picasa

Master bedroom - the house has split level air conditioning. Nearly all of the windows have the nice wooden louvered blinds. Posted by Picasa

Spa tub in master bedroom ensuite - the master bedroom also has a huge walk-in closet. Posted by Picasa

Back deck - we'd put an above ground spa around the corner. From the deck you can see the mountains of Brisbane Forest Park in the near distance. Note garage door - the garage is a three car garage with a double door (automatic opener) and then a single door on both ends so you could drive through or, more usefully, store hay there for alpacas! Posted by Picasa

Read on to see why we call this one "snake house"...

Living room - note nice ceilings. This house is in kholo and it is the furthest out of the ones we've looked at - almost an hour to get back into the city.... Posted by Picasa

Den (notice snake in cage by wood stove (cage has red heat lamp inside) - it was a nice carpet python just as long as the one we had in the house. (I should have just bought a cage for it and kept it!) Posted by Picasa

Looking from dining room to living room. Posted by Picasa

Kitchen (fairly modern). Posted by Picasa

Master bedroom (notice the dragon light fixture). Posted by Picasa

The pool is a salt water pool with a brick deck. Posted by Picasa

The property is really nice for alpacas - it is 5 acres. Posted by Picasa

Tennis court or ice hockey rink?

This house is in Mount Crosby - it is 20 years old, and on 1.85 acres. It has 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms. Posted by Picasa

Back deck - very nice and screened so the cats could come out. Posted by Picasa

House comes with a tennis court (Tim would use it as a roller rink...) Posted by Picasa

Kitchen is nice and opens onto living room. Posted by Picasa

Nice bar! Too bad all of the bedrooms were so small... Posted by Picasa

The Snakes in Our New Neighborhood

After house hunting on Saturday we took a little hike in a place called Lake Manchester, and came across this cute little guy - a green tree snake (note how he is not really green). Nonpoisonous, and a member of the python family. Posted by Picasa

This looks just like the one we saw on the trail (I didn't have my camera with me). Posted by Picasa

Sometimes they can look almost blue.... Posted by Picasa

Sometimes they are this cool yellow color - can't decide which one we are going to have Evelyn hold when she visits, but look for an Evelyn + Snake photo coming soon! Posted by Picasa

Swiss Style Chalet

This house is in Chuwar, about 15 miles from Brisbane and slightly more west then we've been looking. It has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and lots of balconies. Posted by Picasa

View of the side of house - the 1.2 acres of land are at the back of the house. We took our friends the Coopers from Princeton to see this house which they enjoyed. Posted by Picasa
