Our Travels in Italy

After our time in the Lake District (near Trento on this map) we then traveled to Milan, where we based ourselves. We took day trips to Venice, Lake Como and Florence, and spent the rest of the time exploring Milan. This, our first day in Milan, was made memorable by our dinner, where we sampled the specialty dish of Milan, Ossobuco.

Birding and Ice Cream

On our last day in Riva we visited our favorite ice cream shop (conveniently located right next to our hotel) and then took a birding walk through a small forest on the cliffs overlooking the lake and the next towns on the lake. I had chocolate "spaghetti" ice cream with a chocolate cookie - yum.

Our Favorite Restaurant in Riva

This was our favorite restaurant in Riva del Garda - "Ristorante Pizzeria Mediterraneo". The food was AMAZING - Tim especially liked the calzones and I loved the pear tortellini with prosciutto and red cabbage in a cream sauce. I went back no less than three times to eat that dish!
