After arriving at midnight on Sunday I slept quickly sp as to be able to get to the famous Hippie Market at Ipanema, where I bought a painting of black skimmers and the earrings below. Afterwards took a tour of the Tijuca Forest, which is right in the middle of Rio and where I saw Capuchin monkeys!
As a bonus side trip, also visited the Botanical Gardens of Rio (below) which were stunning.
