Waimea Valley

Today we went birding in the beautiful Waimea Valley on Kauai. The first part of the valley looks like the Grand Canyon; the upper reaches are more lush and feature steep cliffs. Unfortunately the rain was intense in the upper parts of the park, so we'll have to go back another day...

Nancy and Tim, this is Mac & Judy MacDonald, Geoff's parents, here in Sarnia Canada. We visited Kauai in 2005 on our way to Australia to see Geoff and have our photo in the exact same place overlooking the beautiful Waimea valley. Beautiful Island. We have university friends (of 50 years ago!) who live 6 months in Kauai and 6 months in Calgary (guess which 6 months where). Geoff's doing very well and has made a couple of guest appearances on Ontario Educational TV as an expert on panels (one on why not more women in politics (Jan.31) & one on Valentines Day (Feb. 14)- visit TVO.org the "Agenda" and the programs might still be there.
Glad to hear things are going well with you.
Many Cheers, Mac
FYI, it is -18*C here this morning!

Dear Mr & Mrs MacDonald-

It is always great to see your comments! That seems like a dream living arrangement, 6 months in Hawaii and 6 months in Canada. I really loved Kauai...

That is also good, to hear about all Geoff's successes - we really miss him "down under"...

I am feeling great and am so glad of it!

:)
