Amazing Views from this House!

This was definitely the pick of the houses this weekend - an architect-designed home perched on a ridge overlooking 5 acres of bush in Samford. 

The house is two stories, with wrap-around balconies on each floor. Valley views are visible from every room. 

You can see how the bottom floor is built into the hillside - the house looks deceptively small from above.

The house is carpeted for the most part, with some tile and wood flooring. 

It has a nice big kitchen opening out into the living room.

Our Weekend Spent Looking at "Lifestyle Properties"

This was our favorite house from this weekend's house hunting. It is in Samford Valley, about 9 miles from downtown Brisbane. 

The house is a new 4 bedroom plus study home on 5 "picturesque and useable acres." 

The house is open-plan and has central air conditioning (which is more common in newer homes here). 

The verandah goes all around the house. 

Those are chickens in the pen out back! 

It would be nice for entertaining - we'd put a spa off the porch and plant more trees. We'd also purchase livestock...
