Darwin is a sock!

The cats continue to do well. Newton's coat looks great, and Darwin is very playful. Here is Darwin's imitation of one of Tim's socks... 

Zamboni the Cutie!

Here is Zamboni looking cute as always... All of the other cats are quite healthy, so we're happy about that! 

Why Poor Tim had to go to China...

Well, here is the REAL reason Poor Tim had to leave for China - the Giant Centipedes invading our house.... (cats tried to eat it but it WOULDN'T DIE....) 

New Japanese Restaurant

Tonight we are going out to have Japanese at a restaurant downtown, Wagamama's - should be nice! (they make a nice bittersweet chocolate mousse...) 

Newton Doing Better!

Today we got excellent news - Newton is responding very well to the chemotherapy and appears to be in remission! He still needs to get subcutaneous injections of fluid with potassium, as his kidneys are still not functioning very well, but he is bright and alert and happy! 

Beautiful Weather

The weather has been beautiful here this week - balmy days and cool nights. We took advantage of this and went to the hills overlooking Brisbane to take in the views... 

Darwin

Here is Darwin striking a good pose to imitate our painting from the Metropolitan Museum in NYC. He is still hanging in there pretty well, all things considered. 

Newton

Newton is also hanging in there, and has been home from the hospital since Wednesday. The other cats are doing what they can to cheer him up.

New Wallace and Gromit film terrific

Sunday, and another weekend with Newton still at the vet's. We went to see Wallace and Gromit's new film, "Curse of the Were-Rabbit." It was really a terrific film, and we were very cheered up by it. It has an excellent plot and lots of very funny lines. 

Newton Still in the Hospital

Newton is still in the hospital. His blood readings regarding his kidney functioning are not stable or low enough for him to come home. So we are waiting and hoping that he gets better. Many thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers at this time. 

Anniversary Weekend

For our 12th anniversary, we spent the weekend down at the Gold Coast, staying at the Royal Pines Golf Resort. As you can see in the photo, it sits not far from the ocean, and has lovely views in all directions. 

French Dinner

We had a room looking into the interior, at the mountains of Laminton National Park. We had a nice dinner at the Champagne Brasserie, a French restaurant just off the beach. We both had French Onion Soup for an appetiser and shared a great creme brulee for dessert. 

Newton ill....

Unfortunately, Newton has become very ill, with acute renal failure. He is in the hospital now, having had surgery last night to get a biopsy of his kidney. We are hoping that he is able to pull though this.... 

Carter William Baginskis

We were happy to hear that my friend Debbie Wolter and her husband Stan Baginskis now have a new son, Carter William. Carter was 7lb 8oz and 20 and 1/2 inches long at birth, and he has light brown hair with blond roots! (very fashionable...) 

Sophia Baginskis

Carter's older sister Sophia says "Wow! I've got a new brother!"
